Erna Low’s role as UK Tourist Office Representatives

UK Tourist Office Representatives

Erna Low have been the original ski specialists since 1932, working with top French resorts over the years to represent them in the UK. Previous partners have been Les Arcs and La Plagne – making up the world famous ski area Paradiski. This season Erna Low have taken on a new resort to help put in on the UK map – Serre Chevalier in the Southern French Alps as well as continuing to act as UK representatives for the newly completed village of Arc 1950 in the Les Arcs ski area.

Serre Chevalier
Boasting 300 days of sunshine a year, making Serre Chevalier an all year resort, this is the fourth largest ski area in France with altitude skiing up to 2930m. The region’s 13 towns and villages, of which the main ones include Briançon – the highest city in the Alps and UNESCO world heritage candidate – Chantemerle, Villeneuve and Mônetier Les Bains, run along the valley and give access to 250km (155 miles) of dramatic north facing pistes, many tree lined, providing perfect skiing for all abilities. Challenging off-piste opportunities are ideal for expert and advanced skiers. Boarders will not tire of the extensive natural terrain and Terrain Parks, and the 35km of cross country tracks running along the valley are excellent for non-skiers.

Recently acquired by the Compagnie des Alpes (CDA), which views the area as a destination of significant importance, substantial investment of approximately 50million euros is planned over coming years towards the region’s ski infrastructure with considerable growth predicted to follow. The CDA already has an enviable portfolio taking responsibility for the rise of La Plagne and Les Arcs and the creation of the massive Paradiski ski area.

With its varied terrain and excellent snow reliability at altitude, Serre Chevalier is expected to become a firm favourite with Erna low clients.
