Argentiere, with its traditional village atmosphere, is in a lovely setting towards the head of the Chamonix valley. The resort is dominated by the Aiguille Verte and is at the foot of the Glacier d’Argentière.
Other Facilities
For non-skiers the area is better than most resorts. There is a regular bus between Argentière and Chamonix town where there is a sports complex and fitness centre, an ice-rink, an alpine museum, a cinema showing English speaking films, an exhibition centre , a library and various other activities. The tops of the cable cars (open to pedestrians) are a great place to see some of the best views of Europe’s highest mountains.
Facilities for Children
The E.S.F in Argentière offer classes for children aged between 4 and 12 years. The Panda Club in Argentière offers daily ski sessions for 3-4 years in the Jardin des Neiges near the Lognan lift station.
