Situated at the start of the Chamonix Valley with very easy access from Geneva, being approximately 1 hour by car, Les Houches is 5 km from Chamonix town centre. The resort is a lovely traditional Alpine village that benefits from being slightly less well known than its famous neighbour whilst having access to all the same features.

Les Houches offers snow shoeing, an indoor climbing wall, paragliding, dog sledging, ski joering and a natural ice skating rink. There is a regular bus between Les Houches and Chamonix town, where there is a sports complex and fitness centre, an alpine museum, 3 cinemas, a library and various other activities. The tops of the cable cars (open to pedestrians) are a great place to see some of the best views of Europe’s highest mountains.
Facilities for Children
The 'Halte-Garderie' in the centre of Les Houches looks after children aged between 3 months and 3 years old. The Les Chavants Day Nursery located at Les Chavants just 200m from the ski school and the bubble lift takes children from 18 months to 10 years old.
