Tignes is a convenient, purpose built ski resort, situated high above the tree line at 2100m. There are three areas which are connected by a free shuttle bus, Val Claret, Le Lac and Le Lavachet. Tignes Val Claret is ideally situated at the base of the main La Grande Motte ski lifts and the high speed funicular and has a lively shopping centre and night life. Nearby are Tignes Les Boisses and Tignes Les Brevieres that offer a slightly slower pace of life.

Newly built aqua centre with a 25-metre swimming pool, fun pool with water slide, paddling pool, recreational pool with bubble bed, whirlpool seat, waterfalls for relaxation, spa area with Turkish baths, jacuzzi, fun showers, saunas and solarium, gym and weights room. As well as offering ice diving, skating, squash, indoor tennis and bowling, there is an Arts and Leisure Centre, multimedia centre, husky sleigh rides, snowmobiling, paragliding, winter mountaineering, ice climbing, ice driving, helicopter rides, heliskiing, snowmobiling, bungee trampoline and mountain biking on snow.
Facilities for Children
Children from 3 to 8 years can join one of the ski kindergartens Les Marmottons in either Val Claret or Le Lac. ESF located in Val Claret, Le Lac, Lavachet and Les Brevieres take children from 3 years in the Piou Piou club.
