However you decide to travel to the Alps, our experienced staff have a wealth of travel information and tips available.

The choices available include:

  • Driving in the luxury of your own car, crossing the channel by Eurotunnel, P&O Ferry or Brittany Ferries
  • Trains in many different forms including Eurostar and indirect services from the UK
  • Flights to Geneva, Chambery, Grenoble, Lyon or even Nice for the most southern resorts

Travelling by air tends to be the quickest option for those travelling long distance; however, with the worry of the ash cloud returning and the amount of time it can take when you add getting to the airport, waiting for check in, being delayed and getting to the resort at the other end, savvy travelers are looking carefully at the alternative means of travel available.

Europe

Road
PictureAll our holidays to destinations in France, Italy, Austria and Switzerland include a return Eurotunnel crossing with a FREE FlexiPlus upgrade, giving you all the benefits of a flexible ticket.

Cross the channel at your chosen time and take your time to drive to the Alps. Stay overnight if you wish in one of our conveniently located hotels. We can also book P&O Ferries, or Brittany Ferries from Portsmouth to Caen, Cherbourg or St Malo; Poole to Cherbourg and Plymouth to Roscoff, so please call our office if you would like further information on these crossings.

Rail
Eurostar direct trains – daytime or overnight travel and shorter transfer times.

Indirect trains – travel to Paris by Eurostar then onwards on an overnight couchette train or TGV.

Swiss rail travel - we are able to book rail transfers from various Swiss airports and even connect an indirect train from the UK with a Swiss train in Lausanne.

For more information on rail travel, please see our trains section.

Air
We recommend flights with Swiss International Air Lines, Snowjet or jet2.com – check out our flights page for further information.

Transfers
AlpLine and Ski-Lifts offer private or shared transfers to your resort, book your transfer directly with our preferred suppliers on our transfers page.  Alternatively we work with a handful local taxi firms offering services to our most popular destinations in France.

If you are looking for a budget alternative to a private transfer, you may wish to book the local bus service with www.altibus.com

Car hire

We can also book you a hire car giving the chance to make your own way to the resort and you take advantage of the car by visiting nearby resorts or attractions during your holiday.

Accommodation Only

We are happy for you to book accommodation only and we are also happy for your to book your own low cost flights. A reduction of £175 applies to any Eurotunnel inclusive accommodation price, should you not wish to take the crossing.

USA and Canada

Air
All our North American bookings are tailor-made to your requirements, so you tell us when you would like to travel and we can book British Airways flights to the major gateways in the USA and Canada.

Transfers
For the USA and Canada, shared minibus transfers are the most cost effective and efficient way to journey from the airport to resort although car hire does allow you the flexibility to drive to other resorts.
