How much is a ski pass in Avoriaz?

Avoriaz is part of the area that makes up one of the largest ski areas in the world; the Portes du Soleil. It has over a staggering 650km of pistes spread across France and Switzerland.

Types Of Ski Passes In Avoriaz

The Avoriaz ski pass allows access to the 75 kilometres of pistes which are within the immediate ski area surrounding Avoriaz. This option is better suited to short stays for example weekend retreats etc. The Portes du Soleil pass, on the other hand, grants complete access to the entire 650 kilometres of ski terrain which also includes access to the other resorts in the areas as well as Switzerland. These include up to 12 different resorts; Morzine, St Jean d’Aulps, Les Gets and La Chapelle-d'Abondance in France. Some of the resorts in Switzerland include Morgins, Les Crosets, Champery and Torgon. Discounts such as the group ski pass or family ski pass can be applied on both the Avoriaz and Portes du Soleil ski passes. Other discounts may only apply to only one or the other. Avoriaz Group Ski Pass

Group discounts can be found for the Portes du Soleil ski pass. Avoriaz also operates the Duo and Tribu ski pass discounts, similarly to a few other resorts in France. The offers are redeemed for groups of 2 or in a group of over 3 people which allows savings on the total cost per person depending on the group size; a pair (Duo) or three and above (Tribu). The group offers can only be purchased online and in advance.

Avoriaz Single and Half Day Ski Passes

There are single and half-day ski passes for both ski pass types from 5 hour minimum. There are also 1-day and 2-day ski passes available for the Avoriaz ski area. The Portes du Soleil has multiple-day passes up to 14 days.

Avoriaz Children's and Senior Ski Pass

Children under the age of 5 and adults from 75 years old and above are eligible to qualify for a free ski pass in Avoriaz. Free ski passes can only be claimed upon presentation of proof of age. Free ski passes are also only redeemable at the ticket offices on the resort.

Avoriaz Beginner Ski Passes

The beginner ski passes are only available at the ski pass offices at Avoriaz and grant access to up to 12 lifts.

Where Can I Buy An Avoriaz Lift Pass?

You can buy your Avoriaz lift pass at any of the 5 ski pass offices or lifts in Avoriaz. The easiest lift pass office to locate is the Promenade des Festivals located close to the Tourist office at the town centre. If you have booked a residence at Elinka there is also a ski office very close to the information point at the Elinka Residence buildings. How Do Ski Passes Work in Avoriaz?

The Ski passes in Avoriaz function very similarly to most ski passes you would encounter on ski resorts across Europe. The ski passes are added electronically on a smart plastic card. The card functions similarly to most digital cards with a swipe function at turnstiles and lifts barriers. They are hands-free activated and could be put in the front or jacket sleeve pocket to allow for hands-free activation at the lifts.

What About Pedestrian Ski Passes in Avoriaz?

Have you come to Avoriaz to admire the stunning views? Are you perhaps more interested in winter treks and snowshoeing? You are still very welcome to Avoriaz. Pedestrians and cross-country skiers have special rates on the lift passes. Avoriaz in particular has 7 dedicated lifts for pedestrians and cross-county use within its ski area. Pedestrian lift passes can only be purchased at the ski offices on the resort; they are not available to purchase at the bottom of the lifts.
