St Moritz- Corviglia Ski Area

The Corviglia ski area takes its name from the mountain ( Corviglia ) and the glamorous resort that resides on it ( St Moritz). Located in Engadin St. Moritz, the St Moritz-Corviglia ski area is perhaps one of Switzerland's ( and Europe's) most lavish and upmarket ski areas. It is also home to the smaller ski villages of Marguns, Corviglia, Salastrains, Signal, Munt da San Murezzan and Piz Nair. Made famous by St Moritz, thanks to its champagne atmosphere and the allure of its celebrity star power, the ski area is also well known for its impressive snow sports background, hosting the Winter Olympic Games in 1928 and 1948 and five Alpine Ski World Championships after that. The area is also credited as pioneering ski and winter holiday tourism in Europe over 150 years ago and the birthplace of Alpine winter sports. There is so much to take in, in the St Moritz-Corviglia ski area; from its absolutely stunning views of the mountainside and the Upper Endigna lakes to its excellent snow-sure pistes and legendary resort centre. Skiers can look forward to 155 km of slopes and a modern network of 24 lifts servicing the pistes. The ski area stretches across altitudes of 1,720 and 3,057 metres. Not enough can be said about the high standards and exclusivity of the area. This is not only thanks to the radiance and attractiveness of St Moritz, but also to the supporting natural achievements of the region. Part of the ski area is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List and the area is one of Switzerland’s sunniest ski areas thanks to its close proximity to Italy. With soo much to offer, it is no wonder that it is considered one of the world's top ski destinations.
