Schladming Dachstein Ski Area
The Schladming-Dachstein ski region is a snow sports paradise located in the heart of the absolutely stunning Austrian Alps. It is made up of 8 different mountain ski mountains that offer varying and unique experiences on the slopes. With such a variety of mountains and slopes to explore, the Schladming-Dachstein ski region does have something for just about every type of skier out there. The ski area is spread out across 8 mountains, four of which are linked and interconnected to each other as well as the Dachstein glacier which peaks at 2,700 metres and is open all year round. The Hauser Kaibling is probably the most popular mountain and is very well known for its beautiful scenery, gentle slopes, Wollis kids park and a wide variety of ski huts on the slopes. It also is the tallest of the 4 interlinked mountains peaking at 2,015 metres altitude. Families visiting with young children are spoilt for choice in on any of the mountains in the Schladming-Dachstein ski however, the Skiregion Ramsau offers fantastic entertainment for the children in Kalis Adventure Slopes offering eight themed ski runs creating a unique winter playground where the children have fun but are also learning basic skiing techniques at the same time. The serious business can be found on the Reiteralm & Fageralm mountain where advanced skiers, professional athletes and snow sports enthusiasts gather to take on perfectly groomed slopes and action-packed downhill runs.
