Val Thorens Ski Hire

Val Thorens Ski Hire Overview

Val Thorens, together with Meribel and Courchevel, forms part of the Three Valleys ski area which is one of the most expansive ski areas in Europe. The Three Valleys have a combined 600 kilometres of pistes spread out across 319 pistes which are serviced by a network of up to 200 lifts and 1,500 snow cannons ready to supplement any shortages. This vast ski area also includes an additional 5 smaller ski resorts of La Tania, Les Menuires, Brides-les-Bains, Orelle and St Martin de Belleville.

Val Thorens is one of France's best-skiing destinations. It has a great snow record as well as having some of the best snow conditions in France, thanks in no small part to its location in the Alps. The resort sits at an impressive 2,300 meters altitude, with its pistes ranging from 1,300 and peaking at 3,230 metres. Its massive ski area also caters to skiers of every skill ability level from beginners to seasoned and advanced skiers. It also has a world-class snow park that offers fun and enjoyment for everyone. Families with young children, beginners and intermediates can head to the Easy Fun Park park or VT Family Park, while advanced skiers can head to VT Park which is professionally equipped to cater to higher ski levels.

If you prefer to hire or rent ski equipment on your holiday, ensure that you search for ski and snowboarding equipment that matches your ski ability level. They are all manufactured with very similar quality, however, some may feature a couple of upgrades depending on the level of the user and the terrain the equipment was made to function properly on. We have segmented some of our ski equipment hire to reflect the different ski ability levels. Read further for additional information on your ski hire for Val Thorens.

How much does it cost to hire ski equipment in Val Thorens?

Prices for the ski equipment can be seen on the Ski Extras page as part of the ski holiday booking process. The prices for the ski equipment are set according to the level of the ski product and the ski ability level of the skier as the skis and snowboards are manufactured to suit different ski terrains. Advanced skiers who intend on skiing at high altitudes and in challenging terrain may be best suited to hiring advanced level boards and skis whilst beginners and intermediates who are used to the nursery slopes and easy cruises should order the equipment accordingly. The prices for the equipment differ based on the level of the product. The products are categorised as Evolution, Performance and Excellence with each of these representing the beginner, intermediate and advanced skill levels respectively. The price of hiring the ski and snowboards increase based on the ability level. Other ski equipment include a ski pack (which include ski’s, boots, ski poles), ski and poles only, boots only and helmets.

How to book ski & snowboard equipment in Val Thorens?

Your ski and snowboard equipment can be hired directly from the ski equipment hire shops in Val Thorens on arrival at the resort. You will need to locate and visit the ski shops and then decide on what equipment you need. We would always strongly recommend that you secure your ski equipment from us online as part of your overall holiday booking. Save yourself the hassle of looking for a ski shop and walking in without any prior knowledge of what you need. Hiring your ski equipment online also saves you a lot of precious time at the resort. If your equipment was already hired, all you need to do is walk into the shop, pick up your ski equipment and hit the slopes. No time-wasting, no hassle. Simple and very convenient.

Can I book my ski equipment online, before my arrival at Val Thorens?

Yes, of course. Your ski equipment can be hired or pre-booked online ahead of your arrival at Val Thorens. That is probably the most convenient method of booking your ski equipment before heading off on holiday. When you get to the Ski Extras page, just select the ski equipment you need and add them to the order. The Ski Extras page comes up just after the Ski Transfers page. Once added to your order, you may proceed with the rest of the order.

Can I hire ski equipment for young children in Val Thorens?

Yes, you can. The majority of ski equipment shops in Val Thorens also have ski equipment for children as well as adults. Child ski hire equipment is available from age 3 and up to age 17. You can visit any ski shop in Val Thorens to enquire about children’s ski equipment, however, our recommendation would be to arrange your children’s ski equipment hire directly from us at Erna Low as part of your overall ski holiday booking. It is a very easy and straightforward process. Just select the equipment that you need for the children, select the amount and add them to your order. It's that simple.

Where do I pick up my ski equipment in Val Thorens?

Your pre-booked ski equipment will be ready and waiting for collection from any of the named ski shops on the voucher that you would have received from us. After your ski holiday has been confirmed, you will receive a voucher from us which will also have a QR code on it. All you need to do is locate the ski equipment shop listed on the voucher and present them with it. They will scan the QR code to reveal the equipment that was hired and hand them over to you. If the ski shop has more than one outlet in Val Thorens, you can visit any one of the shop's outlets and collect your ski equipment.
