SKI THE FRENCH PYRENEES
Try something a little different...
If you fly to Lourdes airport on a sunny day, the view as you disembark is breath-taking. The French Pyrenees are awe inspiring in their grandeur and not as far away as you may think. Ryanair fly from Stansted at 8 o’clock in the morning on a Saturday and Tuesday. This means you can usually be on the slopes in one of the French Pyrenean ski resorts by just after lunch-time as the transfers are blissfully short and much cheaper than they are in the Alps. This area also enjoys more days of glorious sunshine and for winter 14/15 it boasted the highest snow levels of anywhere in the world (4.6m at the summit of Cauterets). It is the perfect destination for a short ski/snowboarding break and non skiers are also well-catered for as most of the resorts have thermal spas to explore.
Erna Low are excited to offer ski holidays to the following French Pyrenean resorts this winter
|Cauterets||45 mins||2hr 20 mins|
|La Mongie||45 mins||2 hr 20 mins|
|Peyragudes||1hr 20 mins||2 hrs|
|Saint-Lary Soulan||1hr 10 mins||2 hrs|
