Tignes-Val-d'Isère Ski Passes

Tignes-Val d’Isere Ski Passes FAQs

Overview

With up to 300 kilometres of snow-sure pistes sitting on high altitude slopes with fantastic snow conditions, you are certainly better off getting a full Tignes-Val d’Isere ski pass to benefit from having a free run of the entire ski area. Formerly known as the Tignes-Val d’Isère ski area, this ski area is one of the largest in France and is also one of the sought after ski destinations in Europe. With a Tignes-Val d’Isere ski pass, you will realise that there is more to the area than 300 kilometres of pistes. You also get access to two glaciers, slopes as high as 3,400 metres altitude, excellent snow conditions and a world-class snowmaking facility. If you are visiting for 6 or more days and plan to do a lot of skiing, we would always recommend going for the full area ski pass rather than the local access pass in order to maximise your stay to the fullest. The Tignes-Val d’Isere ski pass also has discounts and variations on the passes as we have detailed below.

How Do Ski Passes Work in Tignes-Val d’Isère?

The Tignes-Val d’Isere ski pass works very similarly to how most ski passes function in general. When you purchase a ski pass, the duration of stay, area access and times are electronically added or credited onto a plastic smart card which you must carry on you in order to operate the gates and turnstiles to the lifts ( gondolas, chair lifts etc). The lift pass needs to be scanned at the barriers in order to open them. Most lift pass holders may have them in their jacket front pocket, sleeve pocket or on their necks with a lanyard for easy access and activation; in some cases, if stood close enough, the scanners will read the card in the pocket without necessarily having to present them out. It is important that you keep the ski passes on you at all times on the ski slopes as you may not be able to access the slopes without them.
