The Best Ski in Ski Out apartments in France
Your ski holidays are precious and most people only get to go once or twice a year. The best way to maximise your skiing time is to pick one of our ski in/ski out apartments. Luckily many resorts in the French Alps are well designed for doorstep skiing so we have lots of options for you and we have put together this list of our favourites. We can also pre-book your lift passes for all of these properties so you can be first on the slopes from day one.
What does ski in ski out mean?
Ski in ski out accommodation is right next to a piste, which means less walking and more skiing. To make the right choice you should consider the skiing ability of the group, as well as the normal snow conditions at the time of your holiday. That’s why we recommend contacting our team of ski experts to discuss your requirements so we can help find the perfect place for you.

The Best Ski in Ski out Resorts in France
France has some of the best ski in ski out resorts in the world as many are purpose built for convenience so you can stay on the mountain in the heart of the ski area. The world famous 3 Valleys area is a prime example and staying in Val Thorens at 2,300m you truly feel like you are surrounded by the seemingly endless piste skiing on offer. If you’re looking for a smaller ski in ski out resort with access to lots of high altitude skiing, Les Arcs and La Plagne offer great value ski accommodation. For families travelling with younger children or for a short ski break then we’d recommend the resorts of Avoriaz and Flaine as they are only a short transfer from Geneva airport and if you stay in a ski in ski out apartment you can really maximise the time you spend on the mountain.
Looking for some inspiration? We’ve picked out our favourite ski in ski out accommodation for the perfect ski holiday.
Ultimate Ski to Door
Not just ski in ski out, at Le Hameau du Kashmir in Val Thorens you could ski right in to the boot room if someone held the door open for you (not a good idea of course). At Les Terrasses d’Helios in Flaine the piste runs underneath the building and the ski school meet just outside.

Great for Groups
These larger apartments feel like a chalet so whether you’re travelling in a group of families or friends you can relax in your own space knowing that pistes are just a few steps away.

Arc 1950 is our top choice for families as the pedestrian ski through resort is not only built for convenience but also has a traditional village atmosphere which the whole family will enjoy. When the kids are still learning to ski, easy access to ski school is also important and another top choice is Village Montana Val Thorens which is right next to the nursery slope.

Great for Beginners
If you have less experienced or less confident skiers in your party you’ll want to know if the ski in ski out access and nearby pistes will be suitable for their level. Our best ski in ski out resorts for beginners are La Plagne and Avoriaz where there are plenty of gentle runs close to the accommodation.
