New in Les Arcs for Winter Season 16/17
Last night, Joanna, John, Richard and Lars from the Erna Low team had a great time hearing all about the new projects happening in Les Arcs this winter. We were lucky enough to be treated to a sumptuous Alpine buffet by, Eric Samson, Michelin starred chef of the brand new Taj-I Mah five star hotel in Arc 2000 – delicious cheese and ham fondues the ingredients for which had been flown especially over from Les Arcs!
So what new projects can we celebrate for Les Arcs this winter?
5 Star Taj-I Mah Hotel - With 48 luxury rooms and suites, not only does this lovely hotel have two restaurants, Le Diamant Noir and La Rotisserie, but it also has a fabulous spa – the Cinq Mondes and Carita Spa – which offers top of the range treatments, swimming pool, sauna, hammam, jacuzzi and even a salt wall. The hotel also offers panoramic views over the entire ski area.
New ski touring trails will be added to the Arc 1600 ‘La Trace’ from this winter. One will be in the arc 1800 sector starting at the Villards telecabine and finishing at the top of the Tetras stadium – offering a total of 440 metres of vertical ascent. The other will be in the Peisey-Vallandry sector starting from the Parchet chairlift and finishing at the top of the same chairlift, offering a total of 650 metres of vertical ascent.
Along with these new developments, there will be plenty of events happening this winter, including the Les Arcs European Film Festival from 10th to 17th December and for the occasion of the Freeride World Qualifier competition from January 28th to February 5th, Arc 1950 will play host to free riders from all over the world, promoting freeride skiing in all its forms!
