Ski until you drop
Les Menuires 24 Hours - 8th December, 2018
This winter, Les Menuires will be celebrating the resort opening on 8th December with a new and exciting challenge. 'Les Menuires 24 Hours' will see the pistes open for a full 24 hours, allowing those that have been desperate to get their skis back on the chance to find their ski legs again after the summer break. Throughout the weekend there will be pit stops serving raclette and giant fondue to help weary skiers boost their energy levels, while the Croisette will serve as a paddock to keep check on wax levels and fine-tune skis and snowboards that have spent the last 6 months in lofts and garages.
The slopes will be spectacularly lit by a new light show designed by Laurent Fachard, the man responsible for lighting the fountains at Versailles and the amphitheatre in Nimes. 1,750m of electric cable and 200 lighting units are housed on four 16 metre poles, each crowned with five rings in a nod to the resort's Olympic past.

Take a moonlight ride on a piste basher
From 8th Dec 2018 to 22nd April 2019
Anyone that has skied before will have seen the lights shining like stars in the darkness as the 'service des pistes' work through the night to ensure the pistes are in pristine condition for those first turns the next morning. Well now you can take a rare peek behind the scenes as they get the slopes ready for the next day by taking a ride in a specially adapted piste groomer.
Don't worry though, you won't have to stay up all night - after your hour long experience on the piste groomer you'll get to enjoy a gourmet break in a restaurant on the slopes.
- Runs 2 to 5 times per week, depending on weather conditions and bookings
- Adult: €50 / Child (5-12 yrs): €30

Get lost in the mountains
L'Arène des Neiges
Okay, maybe that doesn't sound too appealing so let us explain!
As soon as the snow starts to fall, grooming machines will be put work creating a fiendish maze, full of twists, turns, dead ends and false trails to test your wits (and your sense of direction).
This free of charge activity will provide a fun break from skiing for the whole family.
- From 8th to 22nd December, 2018: 9am - 5pm
- Free of charge
- Subject to snow conditions

Digital Holiday Souvenirs
It's always nice to have pictures and videos of your ski holiday to share on social media and make your friends and family jealous, but if you're anything like us you'll be so busy having fun that you won't want to stop and get your camera out. That's no longer a problem in Les Menuires, with a variety of places to snap yourself.
Pixel Area Video Hot Spot
If freestyle is your thing, head to the new snowpark which has been completely redesigned with a range of moguls, rails, boxes and kickers. The new video hot-spot films your route, jump and landing (or face-plant!), ensuring your feats of acrobatics are captured for ever.
It can be tricky taking a selfie on the chairlift, so to save yourself the horrors of frozen fingers or dropped phones, jump on the Saint Martin Express chairlift and look for the countdown timer between the pylons, so you can make sure you're rocking your best smile. Then to get your selfie download the Les Menuires app, use the photo machine or simply scan your ski pass.
Slalom Through The Gates
There's nothing like a video of yourself flying down a slalom or giant slalom course to help you analyse your technique, or simply to keep for posterity. Head to the Olympic stadium where the ESF have installed 10 cameras which record every skier's run down the course. You can then collect your slalom or giant slalom medal from the machine at the bottom of the course.
There are also photo hotspots at Speed Mountain, La Point de La Masse (2,804m) and at the start of the Pixel Area (2,242m), where you can take a selfie with a stunning mountain backdrop to share on social media.
We love to see our clients having fun in the mountains, so if you try any of these activities this winter, please send us your photos or videos, and we'll share them on our Facebook page. We might even send you a little gift as a thank you!
