Val d'Isere Ski Lessons

Val d’Isère Ski School FAQs

Are lift passes included in the ski lessons at Val d’Isère?

No. The ski passes are not included in the ski lessons. Val d’Isere has two main ski passes that grant access to the Tignes-Val d’Isere ski area and the local Val d’Isere valley pass. Neither of Val d'Iseres ski passes are included in the ski lessons at the resort and must be purchased separately prior to arriving at the ski school. Some ski resorts have discounts on ski lifts which grant access to the beginner areas, however, so far, there are no discounts at Val d’Isere. Neighbouring ski resort Tignes has had beginner lifts at certain times over the years; feel free to inquire prior to your arrival. You can also purchase your Val d’Isere ski pass from us directly. For more information on purchasing your ski pass, check out our Val d’Isere ski pass page.

What type of ski lessons should I book at Val d’Isère?

The ski schools at Val d’Isere deliver a wide selection of ski lessons which are divided according to the different ski ability levels. You can find ski lessons that stretch from beginner and new skier level up to confident intermediates who receive lessons for a more challenging skill set. The ski lessons are given either on a private, one-to-one coaching basis or a group format including up to 8 skiers. The private lessons do incur a higher fee however, the skier will benefit from personalised service and enjoy the undivided focus provided by the ski instructor. The advantage of this is that the student will most likely require fewer classes to be able to fully grasp the basics. The group learning format is usually cheaper and could also be more fun especially when there’s great chemistry within the group. The group format is favoured by parents as the kids might have a better time with their peers from whom they can gain support and confidence. Learning in groups is also great with adults, who can also use the opportunity not only to improve their skiing but to also make new friends. It is perfect for people who function easier as a group and gain encouragement and motivation from their peers.
