Regarded by many as the best ski area in the world, there are already many reasons why Les Trois Vallées is an area that every skier should visit at least once; however, one of the things that makes it such a great destination is their commitment to constant improvement and innovation through continued investment and development. This season is no exception, so we've put together a quick round up of what's new in Les Trois Vallées for winter 2017/18.

Val Thorens

The Moraine chair has been replaced with a new gondola, making the access to the Moraine sector much more comfortable, both for beginners wishing to build their confidence on the Moraine and Genepi runs and more experienced skiers and riders looking to access the challenging terrain off the Col chair.

The welcome addition of the Roc de Tougne Chairlift in Méribel Mottaret replaces two harder to use drag lifts with a modern, detachable 6-person chair lift and provides yet another high speed link between Méribel and Les Menuires. Serving the Mont de La Challe sector, this cutting edge equipment is designed to function in high winds and gives much improved access to the area renowned for its high quality snow and legendary Lagopède and Bartavelle runs.

A new gondola replaces the original Ariondaz lift, dating back to 1974. The new lift doubles the capacity, reducing the ascent time from 10½ to just 7 minutes, and is bound to further boost the Courchevel-Moriond (more familiarly known as Courchevel 1650) sector's growing popularity.

There is a new tobogganing run in Courchevel Moriond - 'Moriond Racing'. The run is 3 km long and has 450m of vertical descent, which will make it one of the best in the Alps.

New 4 hour ski pass

The best way to get your weekly 3 Vallées ski pass is to pre-book through Erna Low - we send your ski pass to you before you travel, meaning you'll spend less times queuing in resort and more time on the slopes. However, if you have anyone in your group that likes to take it day by day, or you fancy getting a few extra runs in on your arrival or departure day, the new 4 hour pass is a great option.

For more flexibility and freedom, morning and afternoon 3 Vallées ski passes have now been replaced by the 3 Vallées 4-hour skipass. You can now explore the 3 Vallées at a time to suit you and thanks to the ultra-convenient 3 Vallées lift connections, you'll be able to spend your 4 hours having nothing but fun.
