Linked into Val d'Isere to form the Espace Killy ski area, the resort has access to over 260km of pistes, much of which is above 2,000m. |

Zermatt is a picturesque and traditional alternative to the purpose French resorts and is set under the stunning backdrop of the Matterhorn. The ski area opens from October through to May and offers skiing up to almost 4,000m. The resort is best suited to intermediate and advanced skiers and is linked into the Italian resort of Cervinia, offering visitors the opportunity to ski two countries in one day. |

Although it is fair to say that any of Colorado's ski areas would be a safe bet for great ski conditions, Breckenridge recently topped the list with the installation of its Imperial Express chairlift, the highest of its kind in North America. With the town located at nearly 3,000m and skiing up to nearly 4,000m, together with Colorado's reputation for dry champagne powder, Breckenridge often retains great snow conditions until well after the resort closes in April. |
