Located in the heart of the Austrian Alps, St. Anton ski resort is renowned for its exceptional skiing opportunities and picturesque surroundings. The resort boasts an extensive ski area, offering snow-sure pistes suitable for skiers of all levels, from beginners to experts. Advanced skiers particularly appreciate the challenging off-piste terrain and the legendary Arlberg ski circuit, connecting St. Anton with neighbouring resorts.

With a snow sports history that stretches back to the early 1900’s, St Anton is easily one of the best places and terrains to ski in Europe. A powder lover's dream, the area has up to 305 kilometres of pistes that range on altitudes between 1,305 metres and 2,811 metres; with the majority of pistes here more suitable to experienced and advanced skiers.

The village itself is very charismatic with an attractive pedestrianised centre, stylish chalet style buildings and its onion domed mediaeval church. It is also only 2 a hour transfer from the closest international airport so it also makes for standard transfer time.

Skiing in St Anton am Arlberg

The ski area at St Anton is regarded as one of the best for advanced skiers and there isn't too much for beginners here at St Anton. The nursery slopes can be found on the Nasserein slopes and are perfect for new starters to gain some practice and confidence on. With hardly any beginner friendly slopes, head over to Lech for some easier and gentle runs.

St Anton is awash with long reds which are great for intermediate skiers. There are long scenic runs from the top of the Schindlergratbahn chairlift to the neighbouring Stuben Hamlet. St Anton has a legendary reputation for nightlife, with bars clustered around the bottom of the home runs and along the main street. You can expect every genre of music possible and to be dancing until the sun comes up.

St Anton’s apres-ski scene and nightlife are legendary across the European Alps and it has set the standard by which a lot of other resorts in the area aspire to achieve. It is widely referred to as the most fun and best party destination among all other ski resorts. It has a plethora of lively bars and clubs that are known for throwing large, memorable parties. For a relatively small, Austrian village it does seem almost bizarre, the amount of seemingly endless options there are for an apres-ski evening. We have selected a few great options that may be of interest to you.

Mooserwirt, St Anton

You really cannot mention or talk about St Antons apres-ski without mentioning the Mooserwirt in the same breath. A legendary staple of the apres-ski scene here, the Mooserwirt is just as iconic in Austria and St Anton as La Folie Douce is in Tignes. It has been awarded the best Apres ski location prize by Ski Magazine in 2018. Has also been featured and revered in world-renowned magazines and television channels across Europe. In operation since 1989, the Mooserwirt has aimed to be the “baddest” apres-ski attraction in St Anton ( as stated in their philosophy ). Open every day from 11 am serving delicious meals, the party starts kicking off at 15:30 pm. Some of the best dance music, lively DJ sets, performances from famous artists and more.

Krazy Kanguruh

One of Alp's most recognised party franchises, the Krazy Kanguruh stays true to form in its St Anton chapter. They also have the esteemed reputation of being the first apres-ski bar in St Anton since its launch in 1965! Located on the slope coming down from Gampen, it is open every morning serving food, it comes alive from late afternoon with the party lasting till about 8 pm every night. At the Krazy Kanguruh, you are treated to a fantastic bar atmosphere, great food and a wide selection of drinks. The Krazy Kanguruh is also very well known for its themed parties throughout the season offering some of the best fun anywhere on the slopes. It has a wonderful sun terrace offering breathtaking views of St Anton as well as providing a perfect spot to soak up the sun or a makeshift dance floor!

Das Basecamp

When you come down the slopes from Gampen ( presumably on your way down from the Krazy Kanguruh), you can hardly miss Das Basecamp ( or its massive umbrella) located at the foot of the Gampen lift. It's also centrally located making it quite easy to access from most parts of the resort. It has a very vibrant and friendly atmosphere thereby making it the perfect place to grab a beer and catch up with friends after a day on the slopes, offering a great kick-off to the apres-ski evening. You can order drinks and delicious food to load up before the party starts. The live DJ comes on set from about afternoon time and plays until evening. Basecamp also features a lot of live music with a good number of bands across different genres visiting more often.

Bobo's Bar & Restaurant

Bobo’s gets a proper mention on our list. Located in the lovely Hotel Kristall, it is the perfect place for the late-night, after hours, party personnel. It is a restaurant, bar and nightclub all rolled into one. Open every day except Sundays from 4 pm, the menu includes very tasty meals from local delicacies to international cuisine including American and Mexican specialities which have also earned Bobo's its reputation as being one the best nightspots in the village. It is also known for its vibrant atmosphere aided by its evening karaoke sessions which feature a lot of merry-making skiers. If you are out for a bit of fun and laughs, there are plenty at Bobo’s.

Underground on the Piste

Perhaps one of St Anton's most unique bars, the Underground on the Piste is a curveball of a bar in comparison to St Anton's bar and club scene. It is located in an old, charming, wooden chalet that is so full of Alpine character. Its dim lights and candlelit interior allow it a very rustic vibe and on a night with an acoustic band, you will be forgiven to think you were on set of a Hollywood rom-com. It has a buzzing atmosphere and the air is constantly filled with laughs and chatter among excited skiers. The food is fantastic, there is a wide variety of drinks to choose from and the live bands often feature an interactive session where the band gets the crowd involved in their act somehow. Great place for a bit of something different on your night out in St Anton.
