Arc 1950 is situated in the heart of Paradiski, the world's second largest ski area (Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry and La Plagne). You can ski to your heart's content and in fact it would be almost impossible to 'ski out' the whole area during a week long ski holiday.

The area of Arc 1950 is one of our most popular destinations. The resort is designed to provide stress-free skiing and access to lots of activities, restaurants and apres-ski bars.

The resort benefits from having the Vanoise Express, a state-of-the-art cable car that spans the valley between La Plagne and Les Arcs, allowing you to roam freely around the 425 kilometres of ski runs – comprising of:

  • 2 glaciers
  • 6 boarder crosses
  • 1 halfpipe
  • 1 waterslide
  • 2 snow parks
  • 11 competition runs
  • 153 kilometers of cross-country skiing

Try other Mountain Activities

Spirit ski school offers individual courses in heli-skiing and telemark, as well as arranging snowshoe hikes. It also teaches you how to do the 'snake-gliss' which is where identical toboggans are tied to each other to form a train that is driven by a specialist all around the mountain!

This is a great option if you're looking to spend a day of your holiday getting to know the area or if you're keen to try some non-ski activities.

Non-Ski Activities

The village of Arc 1950 offers a free weekly entertainment programme with regular activities such as ski joering, dog sledging, concerts, marshmallow and gluhwein parties, cinema, ice carving and lantern walking - to mention just a few. These activities are perfect for children of all ages, providing a space to meet new people and try something new.

Weary parents have the option to visit a beautifully equipped and popular spa, offering personalised services and made to measure relaxation programmes - so you'll leave feeling pampered and ready to hit the slopes.

Activities for Everyone!

You may like to try out the alpine playground "Mille 8" situated just above Arc 1800 which has an eclectic mix of ski and non-ski activities. From 'The Cube', a dedicated learning area served by a magic carpet that keeps kids entertained for hours, or whether you fancy walking through specially cut paths in alpine glades, you can find an activity for a toddler or granny alike!

You can ski, swim, savour delicious food - or simply collapse and relax!

Accommodation & Where to Eat

The accommodation on offer in Arc 1950 is second-to-none. Arc 1950 is the most recent of the four villages in Les Arcs and there is a vast choice of luxury apartments from studios up to 5 room duplex apartments.

Finally, you cannot go to Arc 1950 without trying out some of the wonderful restaurants on offer - in the village and nearby. You can pick up tasty home-made burgers from Meli's Snack right in the centre of the village and bask in the sunshine, whilst wasting no time from the slopes - or you can laze on the panoramic balcony at Luigi's restaurant and watch the world go by.

Flexible Holiday Dates

Up until this year, it was usually only possible to stay for one or two weeks at a time at Arc 1950 - but new for this winter are flexible stays, which give you the opportunity to arrive on any day you like. You can even drive down on Christmas Day if you like, just as one of our Erna Low families is doing this winter!

Flexible arrival dates enables you to avoid any peak rush hour times and traffic jams so you can arrive at the resort bright and eager for your ski holiday - whether it's starting on the slope or in the spa!
