Sun Ski World

More commonly known as the Nassfeld-Pressegger See ski region, this area is a fantastic stretch of ski terrain that has a lot to offer. Situated in the southern Carinthia mountains the area is blessed with a lot of sunny days on the slopes, thanks to its location on the Italian border. Surrounded by high reaching mountains (Trogkofel at 2,280 metres, Rosskofel at 2,239 metres and the Gartnerkofel at 2,195) the ski area lies in a micro-climate zone and is regarded as the snow-hole of Carinthia. The Nassfeld-Pressegger See ski area is made up of the three ski resorts of Nassfeld, Lesachtal and Weissensee which provide a combined ski slope coverage of 110 kilometres serviced by 30 ski lifts including cable cars and chairlifts. The area is widely regarded as one of the top 10 ski areas in Austria thanks to its excellent pistes, great accommodation, welcoming atmosphere, Alpine charm and long sunny days.

The area provides a fantastic winter and snowsports opportunity for all ski abilities. It may be smaller than other ski areas in Austria but it makes up for this with its charm and idyllic nature and surroundings. It's the perfect family-friendly destination for skiers who want to enjoy quiet time away on the slopes with family but also enjoy fantastic skiing experiences regardless of their ski ability. There are three large beginner and nursery areas across the area and all above 1,300 metres in altitude whilst experts can enjoy some challenging and exhilarating descents such as the Troghöhe which runs down to Rastl from 2,200 metres. Another well-known challenging run is the 7.6 kilometres Carnia which runs down from Tröpolacher Alm into the valley. The area has received 5-star ratings for its family-friendliness and non-ski entertainment for the whole family.
