This charming village, which is virtually traffic-free, is situated in the heart of the Jungfrau ski region, and enjoys fabulous mountain views all around. Only reachable from the valley by little mountain train, guests arriving by car can park in Lauterbrunnen, below Wengen. Guests will appreciate Wengen’s traditional, friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Skiers can make use of the slopes of the whole Jungfrau Region ski area, which interlinks the resorts of Wengen, Grindelwald and Murren. Wengen lies at the heart of this ski area. Its nursery slopes are very convenient, right in the village centre, whilst intermediate and advanced skiers will benefit most from the excellent variety of slopes throughout the ski area. Some of the toughest runs are up at the Schilthorn above Murren, or try the Lauberhorn race run in Wengen! For snowboarders, there are 2 snowparks in the area – one in Murren and one in Grindelwald.

The closest international airport to Wengen is Zurich (143km), with a drive time of around 2h10m. Geneva (224km) is around 2h45m drive.
Wengen is a car free resort, so vehicles must be parked in nearby Lauterbrunnen and then access to the resort is via train.
If using Sat Nav to navigate to Wengen, it is important that you enter the destination as "Lauterbrunnen", as there is no vehicle access to Wengen itself.
If travelling from Bern, take the Motorway (A8) in the direction of Interlaken Ost/Luzern and take the first exit after the tunnel to Wilderswil then follow the road to Lauterbrunnen. If you are travelling from Luzern and Brünig please also take the exit to Wilderswil.
In Lauterbrunnen there is parking at the entrance of the village on the left (reservations can be made for 4 days and more, your hotel can normally reserve it for you if you let them know your vehicle make/model and regiistration number). When this parking is available - drive in and park your car and get a trolley by the elevator (put in a 2 CHF or 2 Euro coin, or contact the staff if you have no coins available). The elevator takes you to the 7th floor which connects to the railway platform. There is a ticket machine on the platform (takes CHF and credit cards) or you also can buy your ticket at the ticket office (cross over the rails) the ticket desk is open until 20.00. On the platform you will also find a free telephone to call your hotel and inform them of your arrival time in Wengen, so that they can pick you up. If the main car park is full, drive your car to the train station first and unload it, then drive on to the parking at the church or further on and park your car. The post bus will take you free of charge back to the train station.
The train leaves Lauterbrunnen to Wengen every 30 minutes, or hourly 8:30 pm until 2:40 am. The train ride takes 14 minutes.
you can reach Interlaken Ost by Intercity trains, with connections to Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Wengen and Mürren. There are direct trains from Basel to Interlaken Ost; from Zurich or Geneva you need to change in Bern. Trains run every 30 minutes. Wengen can be reached from Bern in less than 2 hours, from Geneva in 3 hours 40 minutes and from Zürich in 2 hours 50 minutes.
