Zillertal Ski Holidays

Zillertal Ski Holidays Overview

The Austrian ski resorts of Mayrhofen , Gletscherwelt Zillertal 3000 (Hintertux & Finkenberg), Hochzillertal, Hochfugen, Speiljoch and Zillertal ( Zell am Ziller & Gerlos) make up the Zillertal ski area in the Tirol region of Austria. The Zillertal ski area offers up to 530 kilometres of downhill skiing on pistes that range between 560 metres and 3,280 metres in altitude. Home of one of Europes steepest glaciers with a 78% average gradient, this ski area is one of the most challenging in Europe. With such a large number of resorts combining to form the Zillertal ski area, you can be certain that there are pistes suitable for just about every ski ability and ski discipline across skiers, snowboarders and cross country skiing.

The area is however well known for its advanced pistes and is flocked by daredevils, professional skiers and thrill-seeking skiers looking to take on some of the most difficult runs in Europe; Harakiri in Mayrhofen for example is one of the most infamous ski runs in the area. It does sound all so adrenaline-driven at the Zillertal so far but do not be swayed if you and the family are in search of some holiday fun in the snow and sun. The Zillertal Arena is an ideal holiday paradise that suits all types of skiers and all ages; perfect for children and adults alike. Children will have so much fun on child-friendly slopes with fun runs, speed check runs and snowparks with Funty the Arena Mascot. Families will also encounter a great number of ski huts on slopes offering delicious mountain menus and views and when the sun sets the resort burst into life. The apres-ski in Mayrhofen is particularly famous.

All the resorts in the Zillertal ski area uphold the high standards that have become increasingly synonymous with Austrian resorts and skiing experiences in general. Expect very good facilities and accommodation on and off the slopes.
