Forêt Blanche Domain Ski Holidays

La Forêt Blanche is a relatively new ski area that was formed out of a union between Vars and Risoul.

It has since become one of the largest ski resort areas in Southern France offering a combined 180 kilometres of marked pistes on quiet, un-crowded slopes. Though relatively small compared to other ski areas in the country, La Foret Blanche offers exhilarating skiing experiences thanks to its high-altitude slopes located between 1,850 and 2,750 metres above sea level. The ski area is generally best suited to beginners and intermediates, however advanced skiers will find the few steep, black runs a decent match-up. The ski area is breathtakingly beautiful. Risoul offers some of the region's most iconic views from its summit, granting a 360-degree view of the majority of the French Alps including views of Ecrins massif, Mont Viso, Mont Blanc, the Maritime Alps and lake Serre-Poncon. Risoul is perhaps the more attractive-looking resort of the two and has bags of charm with it.

Vars, on the other hand, offers some of the best skiing in the area and is particularly renowned for its annual skiing competitions. Both resorts have fantastic skiing conditions thanks to the unique dry conditions which help to preserve the conditions of the snow on the slopes. The area also has 2 very good snow parks and free-riders will particularly find a lot of joy on the steep slopes coming down Vars. The area is also very welcoming to families with both Vars and Risoul having very good nursery areas and child-friendly facilities, off-slope entertainment and great accommodation options for all. Whether you are visiting with family looking to spend some quality time, or you are visiting with your ski group for some high-altitude speed skiing, you will be more than satisfied with both.
