Popularly referred to as the Pearl of the Dolomites, Madonna di Campiglio is an incredibly stylish and elegant ski resort situated in between the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello and Presanella. The village is affluent and is known for its up-market status and celebrity factor. It is also very well known for its shopping, with the resort home to up to several; shops including designer boutiques, art galleries, wine cellars and more. Madonna di Campiglio is perfect for visitors in search of a refined, authentic Italian Alpine experience where you can enjoy an energetic afternoon of world-cup style snowsports and enjoy a Michelin style dinner later in the evening. Amidst all the glamour and glitz, Madonna di Campiglio offers a superb skiing experience. Although not officially covered under the Dolomiti Superski area, the ski area attributed to Madonna di Campiglio still covers part of the Dolomites and features some absolutely stunning views of the mountain range. Under the Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta Ski Area, skiers here have access to Trentino's largest unified ski area. There are up to 150 kilometres of pistes serviced by a modern network of 57 lifts connecting skiers to slopes ranging between 1,300 metres and 2,505 metres altitude. The skiing here is fantastic featuring long, scenic runs on pistes that are suitable for just about all ski ability types. A rather calm resort, Madonna di Campiglio is also a fantastic family getaway. It has a wide range of brilliant family-style accommodation and several children's entertainment options. Not more than a 2-hour transfer from a number of airports including Milan Bergamo and Milan Linate, Madonna di Campiglio makes for an easy overall journey and long weekend option.

Sitting in the heart of the Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta Ski Area, Madonna di Campiglio offers skiers up to 150 kilometres of excellent pistes across all ski ability levels. From the nursery slopes at the resort level to the gentle blues, intermediate red’s and steep blacks on the Monte Spinale, take your pick of the lot and get skiing. Take time to enjoy the breathtaking views if you can as Madonna de Campiglio is known to have some of the Brenta Dolomites' most stunning views.
The nursery area at Campo Carlo Magno at the edge of the resort is a large area with a ski shuttle bus available from the village. Beginners get wide gentle runs to practise on before heading up the mountain for more challenging slopes.
Most of the runs here are intermediate level slopes but are generally suitable enough for confident beginners as well as intermediate level skiers. The cable cars from the village connect the runs on Monte Spinale and as further up as Pass Grosté. For additional variety head over to the Folgarida and Marilleva extension to access more challenging reds.
Advanced skiers have the long sweeping blacks coming down from the summit at Spinale and Pradalago to look forward to; with the Spinale Direttissima, in particular, being a much-coveted run. The Amazzonia from Pradalago offers a fantastic view to go along with the thrill. The 3 Tre World Cup Slalom however is the main attraction for most advanced skiers visiting Madonna di Campiglio.
Freestylers have two snowparks to choose from; Ursus Snow Park on Passo Grosté at 2,500 metres altitude and the Brentapark at Doss del Sabion, Pinzolo. The Ursus park is considered one of the best snowparks in the Italian Alps thanks to its fantastic altitude, over 50.000m² dedicated to kicker, box, rail and jibbing features. It also has a mini-park for beginners and ski schools. The Brentapark is smaller than Ursus but is also very well equipped with boxes, jumps and rails. Freeriders should certainly check out Monte Spinale for powder and also its long cruisey reds back to the village.
The resort has a very good snow record. The pistes are groomed daily and are 100% covered by snow cannons.
Madonna di Campiglio offers a sophisticated apres-ski experience befitting its image as a fashionable ski resort. Holidaymakers have a good selection of chic bars, wine lounges and restaurants to choose from at the resort. Although relatively vibrant, the overall apres-ski vibe is somewhat chilled and far less rampant than some of the other large ski resorts in France and Switzerland.
Piano 45
One of Madonna di Campiglio’s most popular bars, Piano 45 can be easily described as a fashionable, cocktail bar. Set in a chalet-style venue, it has a stylish and vibrant interior decor which sets the tone when you first walk in. The cocktails, which are excellently and professionally prepared, are particularly a huge favourite. The bar also serves great tasty finger food and appetizers to go along with the wide variety of drinks on offer. Open every day from 6 pm, visitors to the bar can enjoy drinks, food and evening entertainment. Interestingly, Piano 45 transforms into Des Alpes Mood Club, featuring fantastic live music and legendary DJ sets until 3 am. Keep your eyes peeled, you may bump into a celebrity or two while partying as it has welcomed quite a few over the years. A fantastic place to start and end your apres-ski evening.
Hungry Wolf
A lovely bar, restaurant and pizzeria, the Hungry Wolf is located at the bottom of the Miramonti slope. It has a bright and welcoming lounge that features a very smart mix between a stylish bar and a traditional Alpine pub. The staff are dressed in traditional, Sud-Tyrol attire, the seats are covered with soft sheepskin and some areas of the bar have lovely lamps hanging on deer antlers. Visitors here are treated to a fantastic mood menu, tap beer and exotic cocktails among many other choices. It is a great place for a nice evening meal, drinks and conversation. Definitely worth a visit and would be a great addition to your apres-ski evening crawl.
Bar Suisse
A local staple in the community, Bar Suisse is located in the heart of Madonna di Campiglio. Once owned by Emperor Francesco Giuseppe, the building was originally a hunting lounge before it was restored in the early 1900s by Austrian architect, Helmut Fischer. Now an elegant, trendy restaurant and cocktail bar, Bar Suisse is one of the resort's favourite nightspots to visit. After a lovely evening meal in the restaurant, head over to the fancy cocktail bar and enjoy a selection of exotic drinks, beers and more. It is the ideal location for visitors looking to enjoy a refined evening of tasty food and after-dinner drinks.
Home Stube Alpine Mood
A lovely, cosy bar and restaurant, Home Stube is an excellent choice for a nice traditional meal and drinks. Owned and run by a local family, it is a very welcoming place with friendly staff. Its interior is impeccably presented and all through the establishment from the bar to the restaurant with very elegant and stylish furniture and finishes; giving the Home Stube an authentic Italian Alpine tone. The food and cocktails are fantastic with the beer, in particular, a product of the business owned micro-brewery. An overall brilliant experience, especially for holidaymakers who prefer a chilled out evening.
Après-Ski Mau
Located at an altitude of 1,885 metres, Après-Ski Mau is regarded as one of Madonna di Campiglio's most iconic restaurants. It has some of the most breathtaking panoramic mountain views in the resort, with visitors to the venue treated to an amazing view of the Brenta Dolomites. Fantastic place for food and drinks, its worth a stop to capture some long-lasting views.
Madonna di Campiglio welcomes large numbers of visitors every year; a sizable amount of which are non-skiing visitors, so as you would imagine, the facilities here are fantastic. The resort is very capable of accommodating all visitor types and has brilliant services both on and off the slopes.
