The Jungfrau Ski Area is undoubtedly one of Switzerland’s most well-known ski areas and is widely considered the best place to go skiing. The area is made up of the picturesque, quaint villages of Wengen, Grindelwald and Mürren and has a combined total of 213 kilometres of ski slopes between all three villages. It is also known for being the cradle of skiing and snowsports in Switzerland, with Wengen, in particular, hosting downhill racing for over 100 years. The ski area has a perfect balance of beauty, tourist attractions and fantastic skiing. Perfect for families with young children as well as ski enthusiasts there is something for just about every skier profile and holidaymaker at Jungfrau ski area. The terrain welcomes beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers alike.

Beginners will find a lot if easy long winding blues such as the Mettlen which cuts through idyllic, tree-lined slopes and runs down to Grindelwald. Intermediate skiers will find a host of exciting reds such as the slopes such as the Männlichen-Holenstein which is a 10 kilometre, challenging run with fantastic views. Advanced skiers need to look no further than the steep black popularly named “Oh God”, the phrase most heard belted out coming down one of the steepest runs in the area. Experienced skiers can also try out the world-famous Lauberhorn World Cup run Grindewald. The ski experience in the Jungfrau does not lay solely on the piste activity; there are over 30 mountain huts across the ski area to stop for a tasty midday meal or drink and take in the absolutely breathtaking sights. Back at the resorts, your best bet for lively apres skiing is Wengen with Mürren being the perfect resort for some lowkey apres-ski. Accommodation across all resorts is fantastic and the restaurant choices across all three resorts are excellent.
