Ski Chalets Sauze d’Oulx
Perfect for that quintessential ski experience in the alps, chalets are a great option for large groups of guests visiting as a family or group of friends. On this side of the Milky Way terrain, the traditional chocolate box chalets are fewer than you would find in France or perhaps Switzerland. There are a few traditional alpine chalets in Sauze d’Oulx and a few more chalet styled lodges and apartments that have been very well designed to successfully capture that chalet charm from within. That being said, there is still a good amount of options and variations to choose from as you can still find large luxury chalets as well as smaller sized chalet style apartments for smaller travelling groups; all located within proximity of the lifts and village center.
Check out our suggestions below:
Chalet La Petitta
One of the few authentic old chalets you can find in Sauze d’oulx, Chalet La Petitta is a charming old chalet located less than 200 meters away from the Via Lattea ski lift. It is actually located outside of Sauze d'Oulx in the Jouvenceaux area and only 15 minutes away from the resort center in Sauze d’Oulx via shuttle bus. Jouvenceaux is a little yet very historic town overflowing with rustic authenticity in its preserved stone buildings, streets and monuments. As far as ski chalets go in Italy, it does not get more traditional than Chalet La Petitta. The stone ceiling in the communal spaces on the ground floor in the chalet dates back to the 14th century!
There are 8 separate bedrooms, each individually available for rent; with the Chalet able to sleep up to 26 people. Each bedroom is double sized, en suite with shower and bath, and can have either twin beds or double sized beds ( some rooms may require twin beds to be put together to make a double bed). There are two bedrooms which are slightly larger and have a mezzanine floor (albeit with very low ceiling).
Chalet La Petitta is also home to the Cave, the resident restaurant and the lounge in the Chalet La Petitta. The restaurant serves traditional Italian delicacies, most of which are specifically local to the area. Overall, the ambience in the restaurant and bar lounge provides guests with nothing short of a tremendously authentic experience set within a historical building.
Other facilities include satellite TV’s in the rooms and the lounge, Nintendo wii, wifi access and ski school registration from the reception. If you are after a traditional ski experience in the Italian alps at value for money, give Chalet La Petitta a try.

You have the freedom to go about your daily activities without thinking of rushing back to your hotel for a timed meal regardless of whether you are self catering or arranging for a private chef. There is a wide range of apartments scattered throughout the village and they range from modest and reasonably priced lodges to modern deluxe apartments depending on preference and quality requirements.
