Overview

Situated on the French-Italian border, La Thuile is an unspoilt village which offers the opportunity to enjoy quiet slopes and the chance to ski in France and Italy in a day. The resort is split into two parts; a quaint village, which retains its authentic and traditional charm, and a modern complex which offers easy access to the slopes. The two areas are easily accessed by complimentary shuttle busses. The iconic resort of Courmayeur is just an easy bus journey away for those wishing to sample a taste of one of the ‘world’s top ski resorts’.

La Thuile is a great option for families, as the high-tech lift system ensures minimal queues even during peak periods, whilst advanced skiiers benefit from excellent off-piste skiing. The resort is well served by a selection of bars and restaurants for those wishing to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine, with views of the Matterhorn and Mt Blanc as your backdrop.

Mountain info

A stay in La Thuile offers the opportunity to ski in both Italy and France, with 150km of piste linking the resort with the charming French village La Rosiere. Guests can enjoy the 80 pistes on offer, which are served by 38 efficient lifts ensuring that there are minimal queues throughout the season. Advanced skiers can enjoy the excellent off-piste skiing between La Thuile and La Rosiere or ‘run number 3’, which is a challenging black 73% gradient piste, approved for World Cup competitions. Beginners and intermediates can relish the long wide runs or can utilise the dedicated beginners area at the bottom of the mountain. This area is served by its own lifts, to ensure beginners can learn in a quiet environment. Beginners may need to take the gondola to and from the village as there are some steep red and black runs leading back to the centre of the resort.
