With up to 450 kilometres of pistes ( on the Evasion Mont Blanc ski pass) spread across 4 mountains, there is something for everyone here. The village and the slopes get slightly busier on weekends as an influx of skiers visit the resort from Geneva as it is only a 75-minute transfer away. This also makes Megève a perfect short ski holiday weekend for skiers flying from other parts of Europe. Overall, Megève is an awesome ski resort to visit with family or as a romantic break getaway. Whilst slightly subdued in its overall atmosphere, there is a lot of entertainment and non-ski activities to get up to at the resort.
The majority of the skiing in Megève is centred around three ski areas ranging between 1,100 metres and up to 2,350 metres. The local ski area also has 233 kilometres in total. The ski terrain includes a mix of wide open and tree-lined runs ( mostly blue and red) and all the slopes are serviced by a very modern interconnected lift system consisting of gondolas, chairlifts and drags.
Megève has up to 223 kilometres of slopes ranging between 1,100 metres and 2350 metres in altitude. The area is best suited to beginner and intermediate skiers, but advanced skiers still get a sizable chunk of slopes to enjoy.
There is a large beginner's area at the resort and nursery slopes on the Mont d’Arbois massif. A couple of green runs can be found on Rochbrune and Le Jaillet massifs as well. Confident beginners will enjoy the wide cruisy blues on Le Jaillet and the steep blues cutting through the tree lines coming down Mont d’Arbois.
Advanced skiers can check out the red and black runs on Mont d’Arbois and Rochbrune but the toughest challenges lie on Mont Joly, one of the area's highest massifs at 2,525 metres.
For more thrilling challenges, head to nearby Combloux or take on the fantastic off-piste opportunities at Les Contamines Mont Joie, further west of the Évasion Mont Blanc ski area.
Intermediate-level skiers can take the gondola up to the summit of Rochbrune massif at 1,754 metres for access to the thrilling reds coming down the south face of the mountain.

The snowparks and freestyle areas have levels for all ski abilities from early beginners to advanced professionals, ensuring no one is left out of the fun. The areas are very well equipped with Kick, rails, small tables, large boxes, Jib, wallride and more.
Freeriders will enjoy the several tree-lined pistes and wide-open cruisy blues on the Mont d’Arbois and Rochbrune massifs.
There are also steep blacks on Mont d’Arbois which provide great fun for freeriding enthusiasts as well as the fantastic powder areas around Mont Joux and Mont Joly.

The après ski in Megève is a mix between low-key sophistication and buzzing late-night bars and pubs. Not too long ago, the resort's nightlife was very subdued and the night partying was limited. However, over the years, the evening scene has grown a bit livelier. The slope parties and DJ sets kick off the evening shenanigans which progressively flow down to the resort base as the evening wears on. Megève's night spots include cocktail bars, lovely restaurants, a night club and an old jazz lounge.
La Folie Douce
There's only one place to start your après ski evening in Megève with La Folie Douce located at the top of the Mont Joux. It's pretty much the same lively and enjoyable encounter every time regardless of what resort you’re in as La Folie Douce has truly earned its reputation as one of the leading hosts of slope parties across the Alps. The music, dancing and cabaret usually start at 2:30 pm and carry on until just before the last lifts close.
The Cocoon Club
The Cocoon Club is perfectly situated a few metres away from the Le Chamois lift, making it one of the first ports of call when you’re back at the resort base. One of Megèves longest serving establishments in recent years, the Cocoon Club has been running since the late 90s. A friendly bar with a classic throwback vibe, it's no wonder that it is considered one of the local and tourist favourite hangout spots. Open till 3 am on weekdays and 5 am on weekends, the club offers a mixture of live music and DJ sets. It is also one of Megeve's lively late-night bars where you can enjoy a drink and let your hair down on the small dance floor.
Rendez-vous
Undoubtedly one of Megève's most trendy nightclubs, Rendez-Vouz, is a vibrant nightclub that offers late-night partying until 5 am six nights a week. It is very popular with the younger crowds and features fantastic pop-culture genres such as electro, tech-house, hip-hop and reggaeton music. It has a swanky, cosmopolitan vibe with the decor to match featuring low-lit interiors, chesterfield booths classic night-club lighting. It also has an extensive drinks menu, priced slightly higher than other evening spots in Megeve. For the party animals looking for late-night partying, Rendez-Vous should be top of the list.
Le Tigrr
Le Tigrr is a popular bar franchise in France with branches of the establishment located across other popular holiday destinations such as St Tropex and Gordes. A welcome sight in Megève, Le Tigrr offers an additional option to the late-night marauders visiting the ski resort. A sophisticated bar located in the heart of the resort, this is the ideal chic destination for an evening of cocktails, champagne and sushi against the backdrop of funky DJ tunes and lively chatter from visitors. Le Tigrr stays open every day from 6:30 pm to 1:30 am.
Club de Jazz les Cinq Rues
