Oz en Oisans is well served for ski school options, with instruction available for every age and ability level - from children as young as three through to adult improvers and experienced skiers looking to refine their technique. For the youngest beginners, a Piou Piou club offers a gentle introduction to snow in a supervised, contained environment, ideal for under-fives who aren't quite ready for the full slope experience. Children from around six move into group lessons covering alpine skiing, snowboarding and ski touring, while teenagers can access freeride, freestyle and competition training alongside more traditional instruction.

For adults, the ESF in Oz offers group and private lessons in alpine skiing and snowboarding, as well as off-piste outings for those ready to venture beyond the marked runs. Bespoke options are also available, including full- or half-day instructor hire, telemark lessons, and a wellness pack incorporating Nordic skiing and snowshoeing. Given that Oz connects to the vast Alpe d'Huez Grand Domaine, with 250km of pistes ranging from long, mellow blues to the glacial descents from the Pic Blanc at 3,330m, there is an enormous amount of mountain to explore once your technique is up to speed. Pre-booking lessons is strongly recommended during school holiday weeks, when demand for instructors is highest.
