Les Deux Alpes Ski Passes

Les Deux Alpes is a high-altitude powerhouse.

Because it’s home to one of Europe’s largest skiable glaciers, snow reliability is practically a given. The ski area offers approximately 136.7 miles of pisted runs, served by a modern network of 55 lifts. The vertical drop is staggering - you can ski from the top of the glacier all the way down to the village of Mont de Lans, a descent of 2,300m without ever having to stop.

The resort is split into two primary sectors. On one side, you have the Vallée Blanche, which is smaller, southwest-facing, and offers some lovely red and blue runs that get the morning sun. On the other side is the ‘Big Ski Area’, which encompasses the glacier's massive heights and the technical slopes of the Toura and Diable sectors.

Types of ski passes in Les Deux Alpes

The passes are generally divided by duration (from 4 hours to a full season), age (Child, Junior, Adult, Senior, and the Grand Senior for those over 72), and perks. For most visitors staying for a week, the 6-day Grand Domaine pass is the standard choice.

However, there are also Liberty options for those who want to pay as they go, and the highly coveted Grande Galaxie benefits that allow you to visit other world-class resorts nearby. Knowing which one to pick can save you a fair bit of money - especially if you're travelling in a group or as a family.

The Grand Domaine (Full Area) Pass
This is the workhorse of the resort. It gives you unrestricted access to the entire 136.7 miles of slopes, including the glacier, the Vallée Blanche, and the sectors of Toura and Diable. If you want to see the whole mountain, this is the pass for you. It covers every lift in the resort, including the high-speed Jandri Express gondola and the funicular that runs inside the mountain. For a 6-day holiday, this pass usually includes a few extra perks, such as access to the resort's swimming pool and ice rink, making it great value for money.

The Grande Galaxie Pass
If you purchase a Grand Domaine pass for 6 days or longer, it automatically upgrades to a Grande Galaxie pass. This is an incredible deal for those who enjoy exploring. It grants you the right to ski for two days in Alpe d’Huez (reachable by a 20-minute helicopter transfer or a longer bus ride) and one day each in Serre Chevalier, Puy Saint Vincent, Montgenèvre, and Sestrière in Italy. It turns your L2A holiday into a regional tour, allowing you to sample different snow conditions and cultures across the Southern Alps.

The Bas des Pistes Pass
Not everyone needs access to 3,600m on their first day. If you’re a total beginner, the resort offers a much cheaper Bas des Pistes (bottom of the slopes) pass. This is usually valid for 4 hours and gives you access to the 12 free or low-level drag lifts right at the edge of the village. It’s perfect for those spending their first few days with an instructor, ensuring you aren't paying for the expensive glacier lifts while you’re still learning how to snow-plough.

The Supernova Pass
New for the last few seasons, the Supernova pass is a premium option for those who want it all. It covers three massive domains: Les Deux Alpes, Alpe d’Huez, and the legendary off-piste mecca of La Grave. While most intermediate skiers will stick to L2A, advanced riders and freeride enthusiasts often opt for this to have the freedom to follow the best powder across the three valleys. It’s essentially the "VIP" ticket of the Isère region.
